Lisa Boyan, DPT
Lisa received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2005 from the University of the Pacific. Lisa is a resident of Gridley and has worked with Live Oak and Gridley Physical Therapy since 2009. Prior to joining our team, she worked in an outpatient setting in Las Vegas. She is dedicated to providing evidence based treatment tailored specifically to each patient for the best functional outcome. In her free time, Lisa enjoys spending time with her family, running, swimming and playing soccer.
Melissa Velasquez, PTA
Melissa is originally from Hayward, CA. She received her Bachelors of Science in Exercise Physiology with a minor in Health & Wellness Studies from California State University, Chico, and her Physical Therapist Assistant License at Carrington College in Pleasant Hill, CA. During her undergrad experience, Melissa had the opportunity to serve as a board member for the Exercise Physiology club, Pre-Physical Therapy Society, as well as on the planning committee for Relay For Life.
Melissa enjoys working with patients of all ages and is passionate about providing services to patients of rural communities. In her free time, she enjoys playing sports, attending music festivals, and lounging around with her pet cat Boo.
Kenneth Stonecipher, PTA
Kenneth was born and raised in Yuba City and now lives in Chico. He received his Physical Therapist Assistant License at Sacramento City College and has worked at Gridley Physical Therapy since 2017. In his years at the clinic, Kenneth has enjoyed the relationships he has built with his patients and seeing their progression throughout their treatment. In his free time, he enjoys watching Sacramento Kings games, going to music festivals, and working out.
Amelia, PT Tech
Amelia is from Yuba City and is currently attending California State Polytechnic University, Humboldt. She is planning on transferring to Chico State University to pursue her Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Physiology and hopes to become a physical therapist in the future. In her free time, she enjoys taking her dog for walks, painting, and spending time with friends and family.
Diego, PT Tech
Diego is from Gridley and is currently an Exercise Physiology Major at Chico State University working toward his Bachelor's Degree. He enjoys helping patients while forming connections with them to make physical therapy a more fun environment! Diego is also a Student Athletic Trainer for the Chico State sports teams whenever he is not working at our clinic. In his spare time he loves playing sports (primarily basketball), listening to music, watching movies and TV shows, and hanging out with friends and family. He is also a huge Los Angeles Clippers fan!
Alegra, PT Tech
Alegra is from Yuba City. She grew up playing soccer and went to Yuba College where she played 2 seasons for Yuba College Women's Soccer. She then transferred to Chico State where she earned her Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Physiology with a minor in Sports Performance. Alegra plans to attend a graduate program in the near future to receive her Doctorate of Physical Therapy. She wants to be a Sports Physical Therapist and help athletes recover from injuries and get back to playing the sport they love. Alegra also has a great interest in Strength and Conditioning. She is an intern at Chico State with the Strength and Conditioning program. She works with Men's and Women's Soccer, Men's and Women's Golf, and Track & Field athletes that compete in Pole Vault, Long Jump, High Jump, Decathlon and Heptathlon; helping these athletes improve their performance and prevent injury. She is currently studying for her certification to become a Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). In her spare time Alegra enjoys reading, exercising, and playing soccer, as well as spending time with her pets.
Katia, PT Tech
Katia is originally from Gridley and is excited to help the patients in her community with their physical therapy. She recently graduated from Butte Community College and hopes to continue her education with nursing school. In her free time Katia enjoys hiking, reading books, and spending time with her friends and family.
Julia, Front Desk Receptionist
Julia was born in Oroville and raised in Gridley. As the front desk receptionist, she enjoys talking with our patients and seeing them improve - it is an amazing feeling for her to witness them getting stronger and better throughout their visits. Julia's prior work experience includes caregiving in the Chico area, helping patients with everyday tasks and their physical therapy exercises. She attended Butte College but is taking some time off to explore career paths. In her spare time Julia enjoys going to the gym and learning about nutrition. She also loves taking her two dogs Dixie and Duke on walks, or to the lake.
